Phase One Medium Format Camera Supports Focal Plane and Leaf Shutters
Phase One (Copenhagen, Denmark, www.phaseone.com) is marketing the new Phase One 645DF medium format camera. Designed in collaboration with Mamiya Digital Imaging and Schneider Kreuznach, the new camera features flash sync speeds of up to 1/1600 second. The only 645 medium format camera that supports both focal plane and leaf shutters, the 645DF supports exposure times from 1/4000 second to a full hour. It also includes three programmable custom shooting modes, shooting speeds of up to 2fps, interchangeable focus screens and customizable dials and buttons. Included with the 645DF rollout were three new f/2.8 Leaf shutter lenses (55mm, 80mm and 110mm). The Phase One 645DF camera body starts at $5990; the new leaf shutter lenses start at $2490. Both camera and lenses are expected to ship in Q4, 2009.
