Eastman Kodak Company (Rochester, NY, www.kodak.com) is again supplying the CCD Image Sensors that drive the latest digital rangefinder camera from Leica Camera AG. Developed specifically for the new Leica M9, the new Kodak KAF-18500 Image Sensor provides full-frame image capture, increased resolution and improved image quality when compared to the image sensor used in the previous generation Leica M8 camera. The new 18-megapixel sensor also features redesigned pixel and microlens configurations, an IR-absorbing cover glass, and a new red color pigment for improved color fidelity and image quality.
