ARCA-SWISS Gives DSLRs Perspective Controls
ARCA-SWISS International (BesanÁon, France, + 33-381-85 40 60, arca-swiss@wanadoo.fr) has developed two new view cameras that deliver perspective control and precision sharpness when used with 35mm DSLRs and medium format digital cameras and backs. Weighing 4.4 pounds, the M-Line 2 Single Lens Reflex (SLR) and the M-Line 2 Medium Format (MF) cameras feature shift controls on the rear standard and tilt/swing controls on the front. This configuration gives photographers the ability to maintain the same angle of view because the shift is positioned at the rear. Shift is often used today in digital photography to increase the angle of view and enhance definition. By removing tilt/swing from the rear standard, the probability of error is removed and a parallel film plane is guaranteed. The M-Line 2 DSLR supports Canon, Nikon and Sony DSLR cameras; the M-Line 2 MF supports the Contax 645, Hasselblad V/H and the Mamiya 645.
