Canon’s 15.1 Megapixel DSLR Camera Uses New Technology
Canon U.S.A. (Lake Success, NY) recently introduced the
EOS 50D, a 15.1 megapixel DSLR camera
that’s designed for the serious amateur
photographer. Among its features are
Creative Auto Mode technology and an
APS-C size CMOS image sensor with gapless
microlenses. Gapless microlenses reduce
noise and expand sensitivity up to
ISO 12800. The camera’s DIGIC 4 processor
supports 6.3fps and peripheral illumination
correction, which automatically
evens brightness across the image field.
The 50D has a 3-inch Clear View LCD
screen (920K dots), a high-performance
autofocus system and an improved live
view function. It is expected to be available
in October, with a body-only list price of
$1399. A kit version with Canon’s EF 28–
135mm f/3.5–5.6 IS USM zoom lens is expected
to sell for $1599.?,\
