Tamron Lens Wins Consumer Lens of the Year Award
Tamron’s (Commack, NY), AF28–300mm f/3.5–6.3 XR Di VC
LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO lens has been
selected as the winner of the EISA Photo
Award—European Consumer Lens of
the Year 2008–2009. Designed for both
APS-C and full-size SLR cameras, the
powerful zoom lens includes a proprietary
built-in Vibration Compensation (VC)
mechanism, yet acts like a much faster
lens. According to the jury, the VC systems
enable the use of slower-than-usual
shutter speeds, making it a joy to shoot
handheld pictures that are perfectly sharp
at 300mm and 1/60 of a second. It has a
street price of $599.
