Capri
Offers Six-Part Business Building Program
Capri Album Company has developed a six-part marketing and promotional
program to help its wedding photographer customers capture a greater share
of market. Capri has also created a consumer web site which will allow
brides-to-be to find a wedding photographer in their home town, view that
photographer’s work and link to the photographer’s web site.
The future brides will also be able to view Capri’s albums and folio
products. Participating brides can get a chance to win a second honeymoon
on Italy’s enchanting Isle of Capri. www.caprifindaphotographer.com
is the web site, and it will be featured in consumer advertising in bridal
publications and supported by an extensive public relations program aimed
at consumer media. Every time a photographer purchases a Capri album or
folio, he or she gets a chance to win the identical trip to the Isle of
Capri that the bride could win. Capri’s
all new presentation catalog, built around the Isle of Capri setting,
gives the photographer a selling tool that displays every feature of Capri’s
mounted and slip-in albums and new mosaic folios. The marketing program,
called “Save Your Marriage in a Capri Album and Win a Second Honeymoon”
is backed by a full range of promotional programs and literature. For
more information and literature call (800) 666-6653.

Fuji Announces Fourth Generation Super CCD
Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. introduced its proprietary fourth generation Super
CCD technology, which is said to provide increased resolution, and extended
dynamic range, creating for the first time pictures that can begin to
match those taken with film. The technology will be marketed under two
names—Super CCD HR and Super CCD SR—and will appear in products
later this year. The new Super CCD HR (high resolution) incorporates a
total of 6.63 million pixels into a 1/1.7-inch chip, performance made
possible through new strides in miniaturization. Cameras equipped with
this imaging device can produce up to 12.3 million recording pixels, resulting
in remarkably high-resolution images. Incorporating the same miniaturization
technology as the HR version, the Super CCD SR also features a new configuration
that produces approximately four times wider dynamic range than third-generation
Super CCD. Also measuring 1/1.7-inch in size, the new Super CCD SR incorporates
6.7 million total pixels (3.35 million S-pixels and 3.35 million R-pixels).
Super CCD SR produces a smooth and wide tonal range without losing detail
in dark areas or washing out in bright areas.
