The Last Word

Imely photography is a Sarasota, Florida, photography studio that offers brides both traditional and photojournalistic wedding coverage. The studio also offers a wide selection of elegant family and engagement portraits.

Owned and operated by Tibor Imely, the studio has been offering the highest quality images since 1987. Imely Photography is known as one of the most prestigious studios in the Tampa Bay area.

Tibor, a relative newcomer to print competition, entered 18 prints in this year’s WPPI Awards of Excellence 16x20 print competition. Of that number, he received a first place, two third places and 13 honorable mentions. (You can view his other winning prints at www.wppinow.com/.)

He has won numerous prestigious awards, including his most recent ones, the Accolade of Photographic Mastery and Accolade of Outstanding Achievement from WPPI this year. Also at the WPPI awards ceremony this year, Tibor was presented with a Fujifilm New Approach Award for his print entitled, “Neon Blue Twilight.”

Concerning this image, Tibor says, “It all happened really quickly. Everyone was waiting for the bride and groom to enter the reception room for the introduction. I looked behind me, and three feet away there were these three little girls with their arms around each other. When I aimed the camera at them they came up with these incredible expressions. I took only one shot.” The image was made with a Canon 10D, 16–35mm f/2.8 EOS lens and bounce flash.

Tibor can be reached by email at photoimely@msn.com. Visit Tibor’s web site at www.imelyphoto.com to view more of his work.
