Color Imaging has announced the release of its new Internet ordering programs.
Three web-based programs target the needs of digital portrait studios.
A popular component of ACI’s online ordering service is Certified
Print Partners (CPP). Certified Print Partners is designed for photographers
who are very comfortable working with digital photography and taking responsibility
for adjusting their own color. In exchange for doing their own color manipulation,
ACI gives the photographer a price break and a fast turn-around time.
FTP Image Transfer, is available online for photographers who want ACI’s
assistance in color correction, retouching, altering, etc. A more robust
level of services plus color corrections, available by completing the
online order form, result in a normal lab turnaround time and price, rather
than what’s available in Certified Print Partners. ESpecial Events
is designed for studios who photograph memory mates, proms, dance schools,
etc., digitally. Customers also experience a very fast turn around time
in this service. Information: (319) 277-3655; www. acilab.com.

Master Printer, Jonathan Penney has announced
the introduction of his new
Platinum Giclée” process, bringing classic
black-and-white printmaking into the digital
age. The “Platinum Giclée” process makes
use of wide-format, photo-resolution digital
printers to apply monochrome inks onto
specially coated heavyweight art papers.
The resulting black-and-white prints exhibit
deep, velvet blacks and crisp whites, while
maintaining exquisite detail and tonality,
even when enlarged to wall-portrait sizes up
to 40x60 inches. “Platinum Giclée” prints
are archival up to 100 years and represent a
major selling point for photographers concerned
about the longevity of their images.

Drytac Corporation’s new thicker gauge
white pressure-sensitive adhesive conceals
the minor imperfections associated with
the mounting process. New BestMount

help conceal the telegraphing of dust, dimples
and other blemishes on the substrate
surface. This additional opacity and thickness
is ideal for preventing “show through” when mounting thin
