The Last Word DAVID HUMPHREYS

“Time Segmented”

“Time Segmented” is personal work by food, fashion, fine art and commercial photographer David Humphreys (see Lorraine DarConte’s article about him beginning on page 24). For the original shots he used a Sinar P2 4x5 view camera with a Rodenstock Sironar N 210mm f/5.6 lens with Polaroid Type 59 film. Nine Polaroids were printed directly onto Epson Watercolor paper to form one cohesive image.

Although his primary subject matter these days is food, he always makes time for personal work, which keeps him fresh. He religiously scours a wide variety of sources for the latest trends in photography and likes to experiment with different technical approaches. During such sessions his “experimentation” collides with his own style and sense of seeing things and often produces remarkable images such as this one.
