Canon Professional Camcorders Support HD Video and CompactFlash Cards
The latest camcorders from Canon U.S.A. (Lake Success, NY, www.canonusa.com) include the new XF305 and XF300 Professional tapeless HD Camcorders. Both models use the MPEG-2 4:2:2 50Mbps codec for capturing and recording native 1920 x 1080 video onto Compact Flash (CF) cards. They also both include the Genuine Canon 18X HD L-series lens, Canon Image Stabilization, and the company’s DIGIC DV III Image Processor. The XF305 and XF300 are scheduled to be available in late June 2010 for $7995 and $6799, respectively. Canon also recently announced that it is now offering the same three levels of Canon Professional Services (CPS) membership (Silver, Gold, Platinum) to qualifying professional video customers.
