Canon U.S.A. Improves Professional Services Program

Canon Professional Services
(CPS) program during the first quarter of
2009. The new program, which requires
all existing members to reapply, will offer
three levels of membership (Silver, Gold

been awarded
$10,000 to
photographically
document the
violent rape, torture
and abuse of women by militiamen

Small World Game from Nikon
Nikon Instruments is giving everyone the
chance to identify microscopic images typically
only viewed by scientists. The new
online game, "Identify the Image," shows
players a series of five 2008 Nikon Small
World finalist images and then asks them
to correctly identify each photomicrofocus graph. Players are graded based on their

Saying Goodbye to One of Photography's Greats
Jack Curtis, who grew up in western Kansas
and went on to achieve international
prominence in the field of photography,
died July 16, 2008, in Santa Monica, CA.
He was 87. Curtis was an author, publisher,
inventor and talented photographer,
but his true passion was teaching. He
taught extensively throughout the United
States, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Australia

NEW 3D Image System from Fujifilm
Fujifilm Corp. (www.fujifilm.com) has developed
a 3D imaging system that takes an
entirely new technological approach. Previous
3D systems were plagued with poor
image quality, and a cumbersome user experience,
which often meant the need for
special 3D glasses. With the new Fujifilm
FinePix Real 3D System (3D digital camera,
3D digital photo frame, and 3D print),
the consumer can enjoy the image just as

NEW Tilt and Shift Adapter from Hasselblad
Hasselblad (www.hasselbladusa.com) has
extended the tilt and shift capabilities of
its lenses with the HTS 1.5 tilt and shift
adapter. Designed for the HCD28mm,
HC35mm, HC50mm, HC80mm and the
HC100mm lenses, the new Shift Adapter
adds, in effect, five different tilt and shift
lenses to the company’s HC/HCD line of lenses. It has a tilt range of +/– 10 degrees,
a rotation of +/– 90 degrees and it functions
